Conservative dentistry

Conservative (or restorative) dentistry focuses on preserving teeth and restoring their aesthetic appearance.

The term “conservative” indicates a minimally invasive approach aimed at protecting the remaining natural tooth structure and maintaining its integrity over time.

Depending on the specific case, various methods are utilized:

  • Fillings and restorations performed with innovative and reliable composite materials, delivering excellent aesthetic results;
  • Inlays and onlays, which involve preparing the treated cavity or surface, taking an impression, various try-in stages, and final cementation. These represent highly secure, aesthetically pleasing, stable, and long-lasting restorations;
  • Aesthetic restorations performed directly in the patient’s mouth using highly aesthetic composite materials.

Inlays and Onlays

Restorations made of ceramic or composite material, primarily used on posterior (back) teeth when the cavity is too extensive after removing the decayed portion. They are custom-crafted in a laboratory and subsequently cemented onto the pre-prepared tooth.

Veneers

Thin shells made of all-ceramic or composite material, varying in thickness, used to reconstruct anterior (front) teeth and enhance their appearance.

Some options are exceptionally thin—with a thickness of just 0.3 mm—meaning they can be applied to the front teeth without requiring the removal of any natural tooth structure.

Composite fillings

A filling is the process of restoring the structure of a tooth after a portion has been removed due to decay. In line with current scientific literature and evidence, these restorations are performed using composite materials, which consist of a synthetic resin matrix blended with inorganic compounds (such as quartz or glass).
