Orthodontics
Orthodontics is the branch of dentistry concerned with treating developmental anomalies and improper positioning of the teeth and jawbones.
The dental arches, bony support, and muscle tone must be in harmony with each other to optimize speech, chewing functions, and facial aesthetics. When this harmony is lacking, a morphological or functional discrepancy occurs, which can be attributed to both genetic and environmental factors, such as:
- Class I, II, and III malocclusions
- Misalignment and crowding
- Upper tooth protrusion (overjet)
- Anterior crossbite (underbite)
- Deep bite (overbite)
- Narrow palate
- Lack of space between teeth
- Facial asymmetries
- Impacted teeth
- Tooth agenesis
- Gummy smile
- Extraction of permanent teeth
Fixed Braces
Composed of orthodontic brackets placed on the teeth to achieve perfect alignment. They are available in several types:
- Metal: Traditional braces featuring stainless steel orthodontic brackets.
- Aesthetic: Braces with ceramic orthodontic brackets, designed for patients prioritizing aesthetics.
- Self-Ligating (DAMON): Braces featuring specialized brackets with a built-in “slide mechanism” that continuously guides tooth alignment. Thanks to its unique characteristics, it reduces treatment duration and appointment times.
- Lingual: Braces where the brackets are bonded to the inner (lingual) surface of the teeth.
Removable Appliances
Indicated for growing patients, worn overnight and for a few hours during the day. They allow for palatal expansion, jaw advancement in cases of protruding teeth, and the retraction of the upper arch.
Palatal Expander
A custom-made appliance fixed to the upper arch and cemented onto the molars. This device gradually widens the palate. Typically, the desired space is achieved within one year of therapy.
Clear Aligners
A therapy that involves the use of specialized trays designed to progressively align the teeth. These aligners are transparent, thin, and virtually invisible. They must be worn constantly and removed only during meals, to be placed back in immediately following home oral hygiene.
Bludental centers are at your service for oral health care, offering a wide range of dental treatments. From standard teeth cleanings to aesthetic treatments like invisible orthodontics and teeth whitening, all the way to more complex procedures for dental implants and prosthetics.
